The Office Connect account is designed to provide businesses with a low cost high speed Internet presence. It includes 24-hour a day access to the Internet, e-mail and web hosting. The office connect plan also includes the use of an Echo Online supplied office router and is configured to provide basic firewall support.

How it works.

The office connect plan uses NAT (network address translation) to provide your office with Internet connectivity for up to 254 workstations. Each one of these workstations has unlimited access to the Internet and all popular Internet software and applications such as e-mail, the web, and ftp. It also includesVirtual hosting and management of e-mail and web services.

With your web site being hosted directly off of our Internet backbone web transfers are not limited to the speed of your connection. Web pages can be served out at the speed of Echo Online's network backbone allowing you to maintain a smaller less expensive Internet connection. Also heavy web traffic does not interfere or slow down the Internet connection for staff. With traditional dedicated solutions office staff had to compete for bandwidth with the people browsing your web site, decreasing office productivity and increasing frustrations and slowdowns for your current or potential clients.

The Office Connect plan also provides you with full customizable e-mail services. Each e-mail account is assigned the email address of your choice. This allows you to create email addresses that match your company's needs.

Can I run my own servers?

No, the Office Connect account is configured to be as secure as possible. Therefore when the connection is not in use your router will disconnect. By disconnecting it is impossible for outsiders to communicate with your office LAN, preventing unauthorized network access. When you are connected the router makes use of NAT. This is the same technology used by many firewall solutions. NAT allows users from inside your office to send and receive any information they require but does not allow any user from outside of your network to request or obtain information from your office LAN.
